Due to major changes in our life situation, we are exploring whether there may be a better long-term home for Loki. This is not urgent, and we will only consider the right match. Ideally the new home should be located in Trondelag. Loki is a wonderful male Siberian husky, 3 years old. We adopted him when he was 1 year old, and he has developed into a sweet, social, and very special dog. He is used to living indoors and is generally relaxed at home. He likes being close to his people and often asks for cuddles, but in his own husky way. At home, Loki is used to being alone for a normal working day, around 8 hours, and sleeps without issues. Outdoors, he enjoys both calm sniffy walks and high-energy activities such as running, biking, skiing, and hiking. He is a great ski touring companion and has joined me on many mountain trips. This is probably his favourite activity. Loki is well used to travelling. He handles long car drives well and is also used to travelling by bus and train. He is well used to travelling in his cage in the car. As a husky, Loki has a strong prey drive and should not with cats or small animals. He is well socialized and generally likes to be around other dogs. With younger or similar-aged males, he can sometimes show some dominant behaviour, especially since he is not castrated, but with confident and balanced dogs there are usually no issues. In terms of health, Loki has epilepsy. He has been medicated for about one year, and since starting medication he has not had any further seizures. He currently receives Phenoleptil daily on sub-active doses, and this has controlled the condition well. Apart from this, Loki is a strong, healthy, and athletic dog. Loki is registered in NKK, chipped and has an EU passport. We will provide his equipment, including beds, car cage, toys, long leashes, pulling harness, elastic lines, and other gear. The right home for Loki would ideally be active, experienced with dogs, and familiar with northern breeds or working dogs. For the right house he is an amazing adventure partner and a very rewarding dog.
