Skriv melding hvis du vil møte hun ————— This has been a difficult and long coming decision, Because of changed life circumstances I want to explore the option to rehome my dog. I would like you to read the text til the end if you are interested in giving my dog a new home. Akitas look cute but they are not a breed for everyone. She is a 4.5 year old (turning 5 in March) pure bred Japanese Akita Inu. I have the pedigree / family tree information. I have had her since she was a puppy. She has a European Pet Passport and is regularly vaccinated and is getting regular health checks. She is unspayed, has a microchip and has never had any serious health issues and tested negative for all the breed typical diseases. She is not registered in the Norsk Kennel Klubb as I didnt see the benefits. If that is important to you maybe you can explain to me what the NKK actually does for the money and I can reconsider. What I am looking for - I would like to find someone that has experience with this or a similar breed with stubborn, independent nature.- Financial means for „special“ dog food. Due to breed sensitive stomach. (I feed her dried fish, egg, grainfree chicken dryfood from Lidl (40 nok/kilo), våtfôr from Bozita.. her diet is not more expensive than other dogsbut it shiuod not be Euro***** or First Price) And dog insurance / vet. - Someone that can regulate her nervousness and give her safety - No small children (below the age of 12) and no wish / plan to have small children in the future.- No cats / No other dogs.- Ideally own a house with a garden or an apartment.- Not a hiking human as it is not a super active dog, might be able to be trained for hunting has high prey drive.- Doesn’t keep her outside all the time, she is a sofa dog…- Not a frequent traveller. She’s never been on a plane, I don’t want her to go through that. She’s not enjoying car rides either. But is ok with car rides. Behaviour She is a sur*****ingly very cuddly and clingy for an Akita, a very sweet and sensitive dog with people she chooses. Tends to like men more than women, does not like children. She can be a bully with new people she definitely tests her limits and you should not be a pushover. She is sometimes nervous, jumpy, aloof. She does not play like a dog but she likes cat toys. She generally does not go well with other dogs. She has a few selected dogs she plays with and that she likes. Mostly of similar breeds like Husky, Malamute, Eurasier, Chow Chow. However she can react aggressive. She sometimes also shows redirected aggression, it has become significantly less but it is important to know when handeling her. When another dog acts aggressive towards her on a leash she will ignore the dog and just walk passed 9 times out of 10. She is not necessarily a dog for long walks and hikes. She will sit down when she’s had enough. On some days she only wants to go out to do what she has to do and then straight home again. She likes lying outside in the garden, on the balkony and just watch what is happening around her. She is very observant but she doesn’t necessarily bark at everything and anything. She is territorial and will bark when there is someone at the door. She has a high prey drive and cannot always be let off the leash. Her recall is unreliable. She is cage and muzzle trained but I would not like for her to be caged on a regular basis. On long car rides she mostly sleeps or looks out the window, I know she doesn’t like car rides but she won’t complain. She‘s been with me on roadtrips over several days, to Denmark, Germany, Sweden without issues. At home she is silent, keeps herself clean and sleeps and snores a lot and is the sweetest cuddly, gentle girl. She will also need her space so she doesn’t always want to be bothered. Akitas tend to keep themselves generally very clean so she doesn’t need a lot of baths she also hates water. The fur is also very low maintenance and just needs a brush from time to time. Why I think about rehoming I put in a lot of work to help her become more secure but I am at my wits end and I am thinking I am not cut out of the wood that she needs a person to be to be able to become a more secure dog. Plus I dont own a home and wont have the finances in the near future to buy one. I have been looking for an apartment but renting with a dog is next to impossible nowadays. She needs and deserves a stable living environment preferably a house with a garden and not having to move every other year as I will probably have to. I am also just one person and I think she would enjoy having more people in her life that can take care of her. All in all I just want a better life for her. The text might sound very negative but I need to state reality as is and there are issues no doubt but I know she is a smart dog and she is capable of becoming a more relaxed, secure dog with the right environment/ human. There‘s an addition to the „*****kontrakt“ which will state that you are not allowed to sell/rehome her. If for whatever circumstances and reasons you dont want to/cant keep her, you will have to ask me first if I want to buy her back gor the sum you paid. I want to do this to ensure that she‘d not rehomed several times. She may also not be unad without asking me. In case it’s a vet bill you can’t pay or something that can be fixed otherwise. You should be ok with these terms. If you are still interested send me a message.
